gratitude sunday

gratitude — the state of being grateful : thankfulness

On this Gratitude Sunday, I am grateful for:

  • A super-productive week — lots of knitting, researching, and planning accomplished
  • Our local chimneysweep — not only did he manage to squeeze us in on short  notice (after our wood stove started playing up), but his bill was very reasonable too. As the wood stove is our primary source of heat, this was a definite win-win for us
  • The wisdom shared by a dog trainer who worked with Bayliss many years ago; she told me, “A tired puppy is a good puppy.” Hence our daily walks with Leni 🙂
  • The natural beauty that we have the privilege to live surrounded by; I know I gush about it often, but it really never should be ignored
  • An incredibly helpful customer service rep at healthcare.gov — this is the first year we are eligible for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. And without going into the politics of it, I have to say my own experience was positive; I am thrilled we will be able to have health insurance and at an affordable price, too
  • Having the good sense to not get too bummed when the strawberry jam ran on the sugar cookies I was baking for a reception today, and decided just picked up some from our local bakery instead 🙂
  • My dad’s egg and cheese sandwiches
  • And my parents’ never-ending generosity
  • Knowing the prayer shawl I knitted was graciously received by our local hospice
  • The upcoming craft show season — looking at the calendar, we are going to be busy for sure, but what fun too 🙂
  • Speaking on the telephone to a couple of our old and dear friends back in Spain — nice to catch up and hear all the news from the village as well
  • an Ab Fab movie — the TV series was a guilty pleasure of mine; can’t wait! 🙂
