Finally a proper winter day, with all the required details — snow, freezing temperatures, a roaring fire, a house full of napping humans and animals, and a mug of hot chocolate beside me. Until now, the weather this winter has been atypical; with the warm temperatures and rain (= mud), it had been feeling and looking more like March around here. Today, however, the snow started falling just before sunrise and has been steady ever since. Outdoors is just as quiet and still as inside — we’ve seen few cars pass all day.
I have been keeping busy with knitting and correspondence and Etsy orders. Plus, we’re planning a visit to the state farm show next week — our first, so very exciting! And with seed catalogs starting to pile up, it seems right to take a break, catch a few snowflakes on my tongue, and appreciate this fine winter day before work and planning for a new season already takes hold.
Hope you’re day is just as warm and peaceful, wherever you are!
