I am joining Ginny’s Yarn Along again this week, sharing what we’re making and reading.
I mentioned a few days ago that I had a small new project on the go. With this winter off to a particularly chilly, snow-filled start, our local homeless shelter has been full most nights; in addition, the demand for woolies — hats, gloves, socks — has been high. Knitting hats has become one of my favorite pastimes, so I decided that for this week, rather than working on a project for ourselves or the shop, I would give my needle time to making hats to take to the shelter this weekend. What good is our purpose or our passion if we don’t use it in a way to help others, right? 🙂
Looking at the above photo has just triggered a childhood book memory — anyone else remember the book “Caps for Sale“? O how I loved that story and the illustrations, the peddler’s caps stacked high on a tower of Pisa-like pile…I do think I’ll need to find myself a copy. Anyway, I digress. I finished my Precious book just yesterday (another delight), and I have selected “The Hundred Secret Senses” by Amy Tan as my next read. It has been far too long since I have read one of her novels, so I am really looking forward to getting deep into this book in the coming days.
How about you — any project, book recommendations??
