thank you, snow

As lovely and peaceful as I find a winterscape in the country, three snowstorms — the last included a thick layer of ice as its finale — in one week leads to the inevitable task of rescheduling, reprioritizing, admission, and finally acceptance that certain things are simply not going to happen this holiday season. And it’s really OK, probably for the best even. Case in point — in the hurry and bustle of last week, I forgot an appointment at the hair salon (so grateful he made time for me today!) and I feel the countdown clock ticking down more quickly than I’m crossing off items on my pile of lists. It’s time to get real, release the pressure valve, and make another cup of cocoa. Thank you, snow.
