gratitude sunday

gratitude — the state of being grateful : thankfulness

On this Gratitude Sunday, I am grateful for:

  • The weekend, especially after a long, unexpectedly challenging week in the office
  • Having the courage, though, to stand up to some unreasonable demands
  • A break in the winter weather that allowed us to go find the perfect tree
  • Reliving events of the past year as I sorted through photos to include in our annual Baldy Hill calendar — it’s been a very good year!
  • More pumpkin soup — I never tire of it 🙂
  • Receiving more holiday greeting cards from our faraway friends
  • Finishing more hat orders for Baldy Hill Homemade — it’s been a successful second season for us, yay
  • Just five more days until my two-week break begins, superyay
  • The holiday classical stream from Minnesota Public Radio
  • Deciding to try meditation again — second time was the charm it seems. And not only do I feel better, more calm, but there are also health benefits I hadn’t considered (BP was 116/68 today at a doctor’s visit, compared with my normal of 128/80)
  • Russian tea cakes (I have used this recipe for 20+ years — easy and always delicious)
  • Making the spur-of-the-moment decision 17 years ago to turn down this alleyway for a relaxing Westmalle tripel while writing some postcards and finding the man who would become my husband waiting for me there — one brief moment that dramatically changed the trajectory of both our lives in unexpected and beautiful ways. Of this I am forever grateful

  1. Greetings from Colorado! I’m bored to death at work so I decided to browse your website on my iphone during lunch break.
I enjoy the information you provide here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home.

I’m amazed at how fast your blog loaded on my phone ..
I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyways, good site!
