gratitude sunday

gratitude — the state of being grateful : thankfulness

On this Gratitude Sunday, I am grateful for:

  • Garden-fresh food every day — is it any wonder summer is becoming my favorite season! 🙂
  • Bumper wild raspberry and blackberry harvests; lots of blueberries too, except the birds got to them before me! (Lesson learned for next year!)
  • Warm days + cool nights = bliss
  • Fun day at the pool with my niece
  • Picnics
  • Patience as I await my new hammock being hung
  • First Saturday night out with James in a LONG time. Good food, great drinks (and local too!)
  • After a couple scary days, we were relieved to find out Bayliss “only” had Lyme disease (which thankfully is easy to treat in dogs); we were preparing for much worse. Two weeks on doxycycline (w/ two more to go) and she’s doing great 🙂
  • Christmas in July (oh yes, the knitting needles were dusted off this week and are flying again)
  • Long, long chat with one of the best friends a person could ever hope for — so lovely, funny, and supportive. I ♥ Julie and am grateful for her friendship every day
  • Somehow digging deep and finding the grace to deal with some difficult problems the past few weeks and not letting life’s challenges get the best of me
  • Ice cream! Berry & peach pie! Fresh melon! So much desserty goodness to be thankful for 🙂
  • Fields of fireflies
  • And these butterflies. These amazing butterflies have been entertaining us for weeks. Gracious, beautiful, inspiring
